charge inside the conversation, not in another tab.

heysteff is the AI platform for customer support and sales over WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Gmail and Shopify; Steff is the AI agent that runs it. Selling over messaging almost always breaks at the same point: the customer said yes, and now you have to pull them out of the chat to charge them. Steff generates the payment link right there, waits for confirmation and carries on — and if your customer would rather transfer and send the receipt, it understands that too.

The payment link is generated inside the chat

When the conversation reaches the moment to charge, heysteff creates a payment link with the right amount and description and sends it in the same thread. The customer does not switch channels, does not wait for someone on the team to put a charge together by hand, and does not have to come back tomorrow.

Card details are entered on the payment provider's page, not in heysteff: the platform never touches or stores card information. And if a technical retry asks for the same charge again, the link is not duplicated — each charge is created exactly once.

The flow waits for payment and continues on its own

Charging is not sending a link and crossing your fingers. An automation flow can wait for the real confirmation of the charge before moving to the next step: only once the payment clears does the flow continue — confirm the order, notify your team, move the conversation across the funnel — without anyone checking the provider's dashboard to see who paid.

If the payment fails, expires or gets refunded, the flow finds out too and can react accordingly, instead of leaving the sale in silent limbo.

Transfer receipts, read by the AI

In Latin America a huge share of sales over messaging is paid by bank transfer, and the customer communicates it the most natural way there is: by sending a screenshot. To an ordinary bot that is an unreadable image, and the conversation breaks at the most delicate moment.

heysteff automatically recognises when a photo is a payment receipt, a bank transfer or a deposit — including Mercado Pago and banking app screenshots — and handles that conversation accordingly instead of answering it like a general question. This works with any bank or wallet, because it does not depend on having that gateway integrated: it depends on the AI being able to read the image.

The money goes straight to your account

Charging via payment link works today with Stripe, connected with your own account credentials: heysteff does not sit between you and your customer, nor hold the money along the way. Amounts are handled in whatever currency you use, with the exact precision each one requires — no odd rounding.

Under the hood, payment providers sit behind a common interface, so adding another gateway later does not force you to rebuild the flows you already have running.

Frequently asked questions

Does heysteff store my customer's card details?

No, and by design it cannot. heysteff generates a payment link hosted by the provider and that is all the customer ever sees: card details are entered on the provider's page, never passing through heysteff nor staying in the conversation. The system only receives the confirmation afterwards that the payment went through.

What if my customer pays by bank transfer and sends the receipt?

That is the most common case in Latin America and it is covered. When the customer sends a photo, heysteff automatically detects whether it is a payment receipt, a bank transfer or a deposit — including Mercado Pago and banking app screenshots — and treats that conversation for what it is, instead of answering it like any other question.

Which payment gateway does it use?

Today, charging via payment link works with Stripe, connected with your own account credentials, so the money reaches you directly. The architecture is built on a common provider interface so other gateways can be added later without rewriting the flows you already have. Reading transfer receipts, on the other hand, does not depend on the gateway: it works with any bank or wallet your customer screenshots.
